Finally, Xiaomi is sending out the MIUI 12.5 update to its current cash cow, the Redmi Note 10. At the moment, the update is exclusive to Global ROM models of the mid-range phone, but is already in the stable stage, so will not take long to get to all owners of that model.
Xiaomi's policy on MIUI rollouts has always been a tad scatterbrained. While the company has sent out the MIUI 12.5 update to the most of its older offerings, its latest and most popular mid-range offering phone, the Redmi Note 10, has remained on MIUI 12. Until now, that is.
Yes, the Redmi Note 10 is finally receiving the MIUI 12.5 update. The update for the Redmi Note 10 bears the software designation "V12.5.2.0.RKGMIXM", denoting that it's an update for the Global ROM model of the device. The OTA also delivers the July security patch, as well as improvements to gestures, and a big focus on overall system performance. The Notes app also appears to have been majorly revamped.
The update weighs in at 487 MB and is already being seeded to owners of the device today. It's a stable release, so owners of the Global Redmi Note 10 won't have to wait for long before they get the OTA.
