Lockin Veno smart lock series launches with Venokey vein pattern recognition
Lockin has launched the Veno smart lock series with Venokey palm vein pattern recognition, which allows home owners to unlock their doors in 0.17 seconds with 99.9% accuracy. Vein patterns are significantly harder to replicate compared to fingerprints, and the touchless Venokey technology prevents thieves from seeing typed PIN numbers. The series includes the $379.99 Veno Pro (sold here on Amazon) and the $299.99 Veno Plus (sold here on Amazon).
The Veno Plus uses Venokey palm vein recognition as the primary method to unlock it, and fingerprint recognition and PIN code as the secondary methods. Both can be unlocked using a backup physical key. The locks can be powered continuously by an optional solar panel kit, which mounts on the front of doors.
A 180-degree camera provides head-to-toe views of visitors from as close as 10 cm (3.9 in.), helping ensure suspicious activities are captured. Millimeter-wave radar and PIR sensors are used to detect approaching guests to begin recording, and the Veno Pro adds LockinAI video processing to aid detection of humans, packages, and vehicles.
The Venos automatically lock the door when fully closed, simplifying security. Alerts are sent after 20 seconds when doors are not properly closed. All alerts and live camera feeds are accessible from the free smartphone app, which does not require a subscription.
The locks support Amazon Alexa, Apple Home, Google Home, and Samsung SmartThings smart home systems for remote voice control and two-way intercom conversations with visitors. Matter over Thread is also supported for smart homes that utilize this system. The Venos are IP65-rated against dust and water intrusion and are temperature-rated for -22° F to 158° F (-30° C to 70° C).
