Deal | Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 with AMD Ryzen 7 Pro, Radeon 6500M, 32GB RAM, 4K OLED display and 2TB SSD now on sale
As announced earlier this year, the ThinkPad Z16 is going to receive an apparently minor refresh for the upcoming second model year of Lenovo's 16-inch multimedia machine. Consequently, the Chinese company is slowly but surely ramping up the discounts for the first generation of the business laptop, which also applies to the coveted 4K OLED configuration that usually costs well beyond US$2,000.
However, Lenovo is now selling the ThinkPad Z16 Gen 1 with the AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 6850H and the Radeon RX 6500M dGPU with an efficient TGP of 55 watts for US$1,499 including free shipping at Walmart. The notebook is further equipped with 32GB of soldered RAM, a 2TB SSD as well as the beautiful 4K OLED touchscreen with up to 400 nits and complete coverage of the DCI-P3 color space. This deal offers an additional US$190 discount on the already reduced sale price for this model variant of the ThinkPad Z16 at Lenovo's official online store.
For detailed benchmarks and explanations of the weaknesses and strengths of this 16-inch business laptop, please refer to our in-depth review and corresponding YouTube video, which is also embedded below. Although we encountered a rather annoying restart issue with our slightly differing test unit, we praised the Lenovo ThinkPad Z16 Gen 1 for its well-made chassis, high performance of the AMD CPU and awesome trackpad. However, the notebook can also get fairly hot under load and only sports a single M.2 slot. But since this particular version comes with a whopping 2TB of mass storage, most prospective buyers probably won't yearn for an SSD upgrade anytime soon.
