After months of limited availability, Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 2 is finally available with all the announced hardware options. This includes more affordable configurations with i5 CPUs as well as high-end ones with Intel Core i9 processors and OLED screens.

It took two months – from May to July – until the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 2 was first orderable. Now, two months later, the 15.6 inch premium multimedia laptop has reached the "full availability" status, as all the promised hardware options are finally available.

Compared to May, when only a few fixed configurations could be ordered, the ThinkPad X1 Extreme is fully customizable now at lenovo.com. Lower-end options with Intel Core i5 processors and a 256 GB SSD have brought the starting price of the ThinkPad X1 Extreme 2019 down to $1,721 (from $2,049 in May).

On the other side, Lenovo is now also offering more high-end models. Notable is the addition of the Intel Core i9-9880H, the first hexa-core CPU for the ThinkPad X1 Extreme. Another premium-addition is the OLED screen, which has a 4K UHD (3,840 x 2,160) resolution as well as multitouch support. The most expensive pre-configured model, which costs $3,149, contains the OLED screen as well as the i9-9880H and 32 GB RAM & a 1 TB SSD.

Alternatively, the OLED screen can be added to any other configuration. As a single upgrade item, it costs $380 extra, which means the X1 Extreme with an OLED screen costs at least $1,987. (buy Lenovo X1 Extreme Gen.2 LED now at Amazon)
