Last year, Lenovo pushed the tablet-laptop hybrid to another level with the ThinkBook Plus Gen 5. It was essentially a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 powered tablet slapped on top of a Core Ultra 7 155H Meteor Lake chassis. Its successor (ThinkBook Plus Gen 6) will not continue that legacy and focus on something even more intriguing-an extendable screen.
Noted leaker Evan Blass has posted renders of Lenovo's upcoming ThinkBook Plus Gen 6, which will be unveiled at CES 2025. While not clear, we can clearly see a railing on which the secondary display is mounted. It doesn't appear to use a foldable/rollable display shown off by the likes of Samsung/TCL. As evidenced by the image of its back, the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 has two screens sandwiched side-by-side, with one mounted on a slider.
Even though it doesn't use a truly foldable display, this is certainly one of the more innovative ways to add extra screen real estate to your laptop. Many companies have grappled with the problem, often with little to no result. As far as the ThinkBook Plus Gen 6 specs are concerned, it'll probably use an Intel Arrow Lake-H or AMD Strix/Krackan Point CPU.
