Leak reveals Samsung Galaxy H1 over-ear headphones
After Samsung already launched high-quality, completely wireless earbuds with Galaxy branding in the form of the Galaxy Buds4 Pro ($249 on Amazon), the tech giant appears to be developing over-ear headphones as well, which will be marketed as part of the Galaxy series. This is because SamMobile has already discovered icons in the code of the Samsung Galaxy Wearable smartphone app that clearly depict over-ear headphones.
These headphones are listed under the codename "Galaxy H1." The icons are shown in white, gray, and black, and the ear cushions are available in either gray or green. The silhouette suggests that Samsung will opt for a wide headband in the style of the Apple AirPods Max, while the speakers are housed in a slightly thicker enclosure that is more reminiscent of the Sony WH-1000XM6. SamMobile expects these over-ear headphones to ultimately be given a different marketing name than Galaxy H1 and to hit the market in spring 2027.
The exact launch date is not yet known. No further details about the features have been revealed so far. In addition to Bluetooth 6.0, active noise cancellation (ANC), and an AI assistant, the headphones are expected to feature Samsung’s proprietary Samsung Seamless Ultra-High Quality (UHQ) audio codec, which, in theory, can transmit 24-bit 96 kHz music at a bitrate of 2.3 Mbit/s, although in practice, significantly higher compression is usually required to ensure playback without dropouts.
