Latest Motorola Razr 70 leak shows disappointing upgrade

Motorola is hard at work preparing multiple smartphones for launch this year. The flagship series phone, Motorola Razr 70, is expected to arrive in the next few months, and there have been some leaks around its design and internals. The latest piece of information, if accurate, brings more disappointing news for those expecting more significant upgrades over the predecessor.

91Mobiles has spotted the Motorola Razr 70, or more accurately its associated model number – XT2657-2, on China’s 3C certification database. We were able to verify the listing on the 3C website. This database lists the battery specs in terms of voltages and charging speeds for devices, and as per the listing, the Razr 70 will support 33W wired charging. That’s barely an upgrade over the 30W wired charging in the Motorola Razr 60 . The recently announced Motorola Razr Fold supports 80W wired charging thanks to its silicon carbon battery setup.

With the charging speeds barely upgraded, it is likely that Motorola has not switched to silicon carbon for the Razr 70. Previous leaks have suggested that the capacity is around 4,500 mAh, just like the predecessor. It is also unlikely that the Razr 70 Ultra would be any different and will likely retain the 4,700 mAh battery capacity like its predecessor, along with 68W wired charging.

In terms of the rest of the specifications for the Motorola Razr 70, it is said to be powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 2.75GHz. The inner display is expected to be a 6.9-inch OLED with a 1,080 x 2,640 resolution. The cover display is said to be a 3.63-inch OLED with 1,056 x 1,066 resolution. There will likely be a dual-50 MP camera setup with one of them being a telephoto shooter with 3x optical zoom. As for the dimensions, it will come in at 7.2mm thick and weigh 188 grams.
