The 2020 LG Gram 17 was a great laptop but the 2021 model is even better. LG has made small improvements everywhere you look while doing nothing to undermine the attraction of the original. It’s still ludicrously light and portable for a 17in laptop, but this year’s version has better battery life, improved connectivity and faster performance. If you hanker after something that works just as well as a mobile workhorse as it does a desktop replacement, it’s pretty much the perfect solution. The only thing that might give you pause is that the LG Gram 17’s new sibling, the LG Gram 16, is cheaper and slightly more portable, while still offering a decent expanse of screen space to play with. Choose either one, though, and you’re highly unlikely to be disappointed.

The LG Gram 17 is the lightest, most portable 17-inch business laptop with productivity chops available today, an achievement for which you'd expect to see some big compromises. Yet its battery life is great, its WQXGA display is roomy and a pleasure to use, and it holds its own in processing power for lightweight computing. All in all, the LG Gram 17 offers a combination well worth the price.

Yes! To be honest, with this price range, you will find a lot of good Ultrabooks. However, they won’t give you an absurdly gorgeous 17-inch panel, the 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM, and the latest generation of Intel i7 CPU, and very good build quality. You will be getting these with this LG Gram 17. The other deciding factor is the size and battery life. It’s rare to find a 17-inch Ultrabook that is crazy light. Most 17-inch notebooks are gaming laptops. But gaming laptops have a bulky form factor and their battery life is not really desirable. In terms of weight, this one is years ahead of its competitors, and it has superb battery life. In short, if you are looking for a top-of-the-line laptop, that is exceptionally engineered and capable, give it a try, this 2021 LG Gram 17Z90P-K.AAB8U1 delivers.

The LG Gram 17, like its 16-inch sibling, tries to act as a catch-all for a wide range of users, from the mobile professional to home or student consumers who may need a do-it-all device with a large display. In most aspects, the Gram 17 (2021) fits the bill, handling everyday tasks with ease. It has a wonderful selection of ports, a good display, and it can do most of the tasks 90% of customers require with aplomb. Best of all, it lasted 14 hours on our battery test. However, as a 17-inch laptop selling for $1,799, the Gram lacks power. If you need more oomph, the Samsung Galaxy Book 360 is a great choice. At $1,499, the laptop gives better performance for hundreds less. If you want to play games, you’ll want to invest in the $3,049 Dell XPS 17, which has a discrete GPU, powerful performance and a better display, among other benefits. But for those looking for a thin-and-light laptop with the largest possible display., the LG Gram 17 is the laptop for you.

The LG Gram 17 (2021) is a unique laptop in that it weighs just 1.35kg, despite having a super-sized 17-inch display. This makes it a fantastic choice for watching video on the go, while also providing great performance for day-to-day work thanks to Intel’s latest processors.

This is the 17-inch LG Gram, the company's latest and most powerful laptop, and proof that I'm glad they didn't pay attention to my emails. See I told them not to send me this machine. I chose a smaller variant for review because I felt there was just no way I could like this behemoth of a machine, and well.. Let's just say I was wrong in most things. I'm Jaime Rivera with Pocketnow, and this is our full review.

17in laptops have become a comparatively rare sight in recent years, but the LG Gram 17 reminds us why they still have a place in modern business. Large without being unwieldy, this expansive ultraportable blends a superb screen and a great battery life with all the features you could want. That slim frame means it’s let down slightly by underwhelming multi-core performance, but providing you’re not planning to push it too hard, the Gram 17 more than makes up for this deficiency with its other qualities. Whoever said that bigger doesn’t mean better clearly never saw this laptop.

The LG Gram 17 (2021) is the latest 17-inch variant of the company’s so far superb lineup of productivity-oriented laptops that focus on being as light as possible. Powered by Intel’s 11th-generation mobile processors, the LG Gram 17 (2021) mostly allows for fast, hassle-free productivity to make your workload seamless.

In my eyes, the biggest drawbacks with the LG Gram (2021) are its flimsy construction and the extra bloatware, neither of which necessarily ruin the experience. It’s still an excellent computer despite those things (and at least if you take the time, you can remedy the bloatware issue).

With these issues addressed, the 2021 Gram 17 is a much improved and nearly complete package. The only big-screen buyers who might want to look elsewhere are gamers and content creators, who are better served by the excellent Dell XPS 17 or deluxe gaming rigs such as the Alienware m17. Not only is the Gram 17 light, but it's also pleasing to the touch and easy on the eyes. The massive screen is complemented by a comfortable keyboard and touchpad. Throw in a reasonable asking price and more than enough power for everyday office tasks, and you easily have an Editors' Choice winner for general-use, giant screen laptops.

There are few 17-inch laptops to choose from and even fewer models that are as lightweight as this one. This year’s LG Gram 17 is unique in the sense that it’s more powerful than ever, but it doesn’t give up its portability. Oddly enough, the only competition it faces at the moment comes from within LG. The 16-inch Gram is lighter and less expensive, yet it features the same design, screen size, port selection, battery capacity, and specs (aside from having significantly less storage) for $1,399. You can find one that has the same 1TB storage as the Gram 17 for $1,599. If the Gram 17’s $1,799 price is too expensive, at least you have an alternative that’ll likely deliver the same great results.

LG has improved the two main complaints we had about the previous gram 17 meaning the 2021 model gains full marks. It's the most well-balanced 17in laptop on the market right now.

Lisa Gade reviews the redesigned 2021 LG gram 17, also available in 16” and 14” sizes. It’s still an impossibly light magnesium alloy Ultrabook, but it has a more angular design, 16:10 aspect ratio WQHD+ displays across the size range and Intel 11th gen processors with Intel Iris Xe graphics. The display is now wide gamut with full DCI P3 color coverage. The laptop has a backlit keyboard, fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button, Thunderbolt 4, and a roomy 16:10 aspect ratio MS Precision trackpad.

Who knew you could get a laptop this light and this large? And to top it all, the LG Gram 17 (17z90p) offers high-end performance and a screen to die for. Unless you specifically need a touchscreen, 2-in-1, or a gaming laptop, you won't find finer for this form factor at this price.

Intel Iris Xe G7 96EUs: Integrated graphics card in Intel Tiger Lake G4 SoCs based on the new Gen. 12 architecture with 96 EUs (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). The clock rate depends on the processor model. The Tiger Lake chips are produced in the modern 10nm+ process at Intel.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

The i7 is designed for use in ultra-light (yet actively cooled) laptops; it is manufactured on Intel's third-gen 10 nm process marketed as SuperFin. The CPU cores run at 2.8 GHz (base clock speed @ 28 W TDP) to 4.7 GHz (single-core Boost frequency). This range for display formats was and is a rarity. It is larger than the general standard of 15 inches, but not yet in the range of large workstations. One usually has higher screen resolutions available, but portability suffers from that.

LG Electronics Inc. is a subsidiary of LG Group. It is a South Korean company and was founded as Goldstar Co, Ltd, in 1958. The group offers products in the fields of information technology, consumer electronics and mobile communications, and home appliances. LG Electronics is the world's third largest home appliance manufacturer. As a notebook manufacturer, LG only became known to a wider audience in the German-speaking market in 2005.
