Kokoon announces a general launch for the sleep-focused Nightbuds
Kokoon has now followed its Kickstarter success with the first-gen Nightbuds up with their release through the OEM's first-party store. The company has pitted these earbuds against others in their category such as the Amazfit ZenBuds or Bose's Sleepbuds in that they are audio accessories one might want to wear to promote sleep.
Kokoon asserts that the Nightbuds do this mostly through their proprietary app, which should "evolve" with the user with increasing personalized and targeted sleep coaching and tracking. The app is rated to, for example, learn a user's "chronotype" (their unique sleep/wake patterns and cycles) and tailor its interactions and feedback accordingly.
The Kokoon Nightbuds could also be said to be the world's first 'skull-buds', as they are connected to an ultra-slim battery pack that conforms to the back of the head via equally flexible spring-like cables.
This may ensure that their hardware - optical heart-rate sensors included - stay right in place and keep working as the user wears them throughout the night. They are available to order from now at a final normal retail price of US$249.
