Keenon XMAN-F1 unveiled as potentially versatile humanoid robot

A new addition to the growing truly bipedal robot has been introduced at an AI conference in Shanghai. The XMAN-F1 by Keenon is touted to deliver convincingly humanoid mobility and dexterity. It is backed to be of service in certain hospitality, commercial or even healthcare roles - although it needs extra help to execute some of them.

Keenon is a company that lays claim to a leading role in the service robot industry, with a share of 40.4% in the automatic food delivery space and 22.7% of all shipments in the market in general.

The firm has come to the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) event, currently ongoing until July 29, 2025, to introduce the XMAN-F1 as its latest product.

It looks and is rated to move a lot like the Unitree R1- albeit without the specialization in party tricks like somersaults. Instead, the OEM asserts that, unlike its new rival, the XMANF1 can in fact do the work of some human service or even healthcare workers.

Then again, it apparently needs the assistance of extra robots with different, dedicated use-cases to do so: for example, the Keenon M104 logistics robot is apparently required for the bipedal automaton to function in a medical setting, while the T10 delivery robot needs to be there in order for XMAN-F1 to work as a bartender.

Some of them seem to be intended as direct attachments for the XMAN-F1 in place of its legs, which impairs its mobility as a selling point and potentially puts the service provider (and possibly even the end-user) in more of a position of dependence on Keenon and its ecosystem in real-word scenarios.

Unlike the R1, this new humanoid robot lacks pricing and availability at the time of writing.
