Star Wars Battlefront II is discounted by 90% on Steam until June 26, bringing the price down to just $3.99. Star Wars Battlefront II reviews and highlights
The original Star Wars Battlefront II set the standard for fun, multiplayer FPS Star Wars games going forward, delivering a healthy helping of Star Wars heroes and fast-paced battles across a variety of classic Star Wars battlefields — including in space — and Battlefront II simply builds on that same formula. Battlefront II 2017 delivers updated combat mechanics, new game modes, a graphics overhaul, and a vastly expanded character roster.
In Battlefront II (2017)'s multiplayer ground assault modes, you can choose from one of 19 different unit classes, depending on the map and factions at play. There are also 22 playable heroes and villains, including Luke, Yoda, Rey, Darth Vader, Iden Versio, Boba Fett, and General Grievous, among others — which will appear as playable characters in certain battles as they advance and earn points. For space battles, there are 12 classic Star Wars "hero" ships from both the dark and light side, including both old and new trilogy versions of the Millennium Falcon, Poe Dameron's X-Wing, Darth Vader's TIE Advanced, and Kylo Ren's TIE Silencer.
There are 12 total multiplayer game modes, which feature different objectives and play styles and span different Star Wars eras, including the Age of the Republic, Age of Resistance, and the Age of Rebellion. Most of the reviews on Steam, where the review rating currently sits at an impressive 92% positive, praise Star Wars Battlefront II for its slick combat and gameplay, reasonable but challenging difficulty, and solid line-up of content and post-launch updates that helped smooth over initial bugs. It's also maintained a solid player base, with around 14,000 daily concurrent players, as of the time of writing.
The Star Wars Battlefront II Celebration Edition currently on sale on Steam features a mountain of bonus content in addition to the base game. This includes:
- Base game — Including all past and future free game updates as they release.
- More than 25 Hero Appearances — Including 6 Legendary Appearances, plus 1 Appearance each for Rey, Finn, and Kylo Ren inspired by Star Wars: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER.
- More than 125 Trooper and Reinforcement Appearances
- More than 100 Hero and Trooper Emotes and Voice Lines
- More than 70 Hero and Trooper Victory Poses
