MOUTHOLE, an indie title by Anything Nose Productions, will get delisted from Steam. Ahead of the removal, the developers have made it a free game, allowing users to add it to their library and keep it even after the delisting. In addition to the base game, its downloadable soundtrack has also become a freebie.
Before this transition, the currently free game MOUTHOLE used to cost $3.99 when there was no sale in place. As for the downloadable soundtrack, it used to go for $1.99. So, the total value of the whole package stands at $5.98, which Steam users can currently claim for $0.
As for the game itself, MOUTHOLE currently has a "Very Positive" rating on Steam with 80 player reviews. It's described as a first-person adventure title and is known for its sensor-overloading atmosphere and unconventional premise. Speaking of the premise, players start with a dentist visit, where they get six days to improve their mouth's cleanliness.
That sets the week-long journey of dreamlike exploration of the in-game character's mouth. There aren't many levels on this currently free Steam game, but each stage has challenges that the players need to go through to progress. Per the player reviews, these puzzles require unconventional thinking and are often abstract.
Regarding the game's environment, it's generally described as surreal, with unexpected transitions, grotesque imagery, and shifting landscapes. The audio design of this free Steam game is also said to complement the trippy visuals. There's a level of replayability as well, thanks to MOUTHOLE featuring multiple endings based on players' choices and their paths. You can learn more from the video attached below.
