Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 and Huawei MatePad Air 2024 specs revealed by new leak

Earlier this year, Huawei teased two new MatePad tablets for the Chinese market. One of them would be a new Huawei MatePad Air variant, while the other would improve upon the MatePad Pro. The latter was rumoured to come with a tandem OLED screen like the M4 iPad Pro. Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station has now revealed more specifications of both SKUs.

Huawei MatePad Air 2024

The Huawei MatePad Air 2024 gets a 12.4-inch IPS LCD panel that can dynamically adjust between30 Hz and 144 Hz. It is slightly larger than the one found on its last-gen counterpart. Plus, it replaces its predecessor's Snapdragon 888 SoC with an in-house Kirin 9000W. Other notable Huawei MatePad Air 2024 specs include two rear cameras (8 MP + 13 MP), an 8 MP selfie camera, a 10,100 mAh battery that supports 66 Watt fast charging. It integrates seamless into Huawei's device ecosystem and can double up as a productivity machine thanks to keyboard and stylus support.

As mentioned earlier, the Huawei MatePad Pro 12.2 comes with a tandem OLED panel. It has a peak brightness is 2,000 nits (refresh rate unknown). It uses a Kirin 9010W SoC with satellite connectivity, a 10,000 mAh battery with 100 Watt fast charging and the same camera specs as the MatePad Air. Overall, the changes seem incremental compared to last year's model, except for the screen.
