Huawei sent out the full, stable Oreo update to users of the Honor 7X a few weeks ago. The next device on the list is the Huawei Mate SE, an upgraded Honor 7X designed for the North American market.

Huawei's update game this year has been impressive. The company was one of the first to begin Oreo beta-testing for its last-gen devices, way back in October. Since then, it has rolled out updates to most of its devices, with the Huawei Mate SE being the latest to enjoy the current iteration of Android.

The Mate SE was released a few months ago as a rebranded Honor 7X exclusive to North America. The Honor 7X for the US market only featured 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, which wasn't enough for most, so the company released the Mate SE with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Of course, the Mate SE also carried a slight US$30 premium over the US$200 Honor 7X.

While the Honor 7X has received its Oreo update for a while, Mate SE users only just got theirs over the weekend. It's a staged rollout, of course, and so may take a while to get to everyone. The download weighs in at 2.4 GB or so, and brings all the features we already saw on the Honor 7X update.
