Huawei has traditionally been the third-largest smartphone brand in the world, just under Apple, and the Chinese giants have taken a number of cues from the former, most notable being the ditching of the 3.5mm headphone jack. Huawei released the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro last year, with the Pro model opting out of the jack—a setup that will also carry over to this generation.
According to sources, the Mate 20 Pro will also sport a headphone jack. Thankfully, the regular Mate 20 will. We’ve seen a number of Huawei devices also choose that route of recent, the most recent being the P20 Pro that was released earlier in the year.
Some other differences between the regular Mate 20 and the Mate 20 Pro include the fingerprint readers the devices will feature, as the base model opts for a traditional sensor, while the Pro version will sport an in-display reader.
The Mate 20 devices are billed to be launched on October 16 at an event in London.
