The Honor Pad GT 2 Pro (stylized as Honor Pad GT2 Pro) was announced a couple of weeks ago in China. The tablet is available to purchase in the country. Arriving as a follow-up to the Honor Pad GT Pro released in October 2024, the new tablet does come with some upgrades, but also comes with a few downgrades.
The original Honor Pad GT Pro has a 12.3-inch 144Hz 3000 × 1920 display but the new tablet is slightly bigger with its 12.5-inch 3048 × 2032 display. However, while the Pad GT2 Pro has a 165Hz refresh rate, it ditches the OLED display of its predecessor for an IPS LCD panel. Nevertheless, it still has support for the Honor Magic-Pencil 3 stylus.
Under the hood of the Honor Pad GT2 Pro is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor to replace the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 of the Pad GT Pro. Buyers will be able to choose between 8GB, 12GB, and 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. There's no microSD card slot for storage expansion, so you are stuck with whatever storage option you choose.
The Honor Pad GT2 Pro has a single 13MP camera on the back with LED flash while an 8MP front-facing camera replaces the 9MP sensor on the Honor Pad GT Pro. The new tablet has eight speakers with Hi-Res audio and is IMAX Enhanced-certified. It also has Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7, but no NFC.
Honor ships the tablet with a 10,100mAh Si-C Li-ion battery with support for 66W fast wired charging (charger included) and bypass charging. In addition, the Honor Pad GT2 Pro is equipped with a liquid cooling system. It ships with MagicOS 9.0.1 based on Android 15 out of the box.
Available in Ice White and Phantom Gray, the Honor Pad GT2 Pro is available to buy already in China. Pricing starts at 2,499 (~$349/€299) for the base model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and maxes out at 3,399 (~$475/€408) for the highest configuration which has 16GB RAM and 512GB of storage.
Honor is yet to reveal plans for a global launch, but we won't rule out the possibility of it happening considering the Honor Pad GT Pro is available in Europe and the UK as the Honor MagicPad 2 (read our review). There's also the possibility Honor might instead choose to bring the larger Honor MagicPad 3 to these markets.
