Specifications and marketing images of Honor's next mid-range smartphone have leaked online. To be sold as the Magic5 Lite, the handset has a 5,100 mAh battery, a 120 Hz OLED display and a 64 MP primary camera. The Magic5 Lite is expected to launch in two colours and one memory configuration for under €400 in the Eurozone.

WinFuture and @_snoopytech_ have leaked the Magic5 Lite, one of several smartphones that Honor is expected to reveal later this month at MWC 2023. Honor may no longer be a Huawei subsidiary, but the Magic5 Lite bears more than a passing resemblance with the Mate 40 and Mate 50 series. Regardless, the Magic5 Lite contains upgrades over the Magic4 Lite in several areas, including its battery capacity, display and cameras.

For some reason, Honor has left the chipset unchanged, with the Magic5 Lite re-using the Snapdragon 695 5G. While the Snapdragon 695 5G has fared well in our tests, the Snapdragon 778G 5G offers a moderate performance uplift. Similarly, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 is finally making its way to market in greater numbers courtesy of the Xiaomi 13 Lite. The Magic5 Lite will only come with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage too, matching the Magic4 Lite in most markets.

Conversely, the Magic5 Lite has an OLED display, an upgrade over the IPS one in its predecessor. The inclusion of a 6.67-inch panel also makes the Magic5 Lite considerably smaller than the Magic4 Lite, which relies on a 6.81-inch panel. As the specification sheet below shows, the 6.67-inch display operates at 1080p, 120 Hz and with 800 nits peak brightness. Honor has included an in-display fingerprint scanner too, rather than the side-mounted one in the Magic4 Lite.

Moreover, the Magic5 Lite has a 5,100 mAh battery, plus 16 MP front-facing, 64 MP primary, 5 MP ultra-wide-angle and 2 MP macro cameras. Unfortunately, the Magic5 Lite will not ship with Android 13, which Honor distributes as Magic UI 7. Instead, the Magic5 Lite will come with Magic UI 6.1 based on Android 12. According to @_snoopytech_, Honor will sell the Magic5 Lite in Europe for €369, €20 more than the Magic4 Lite.
