Earlier this week, Xiaomi announced global launch dates for the POCO X5 series, which will start life with the POCO X5 5G and the POCO X5 Pro 5G. Subsequently, specification sheets for both devices leaked online, covered separately. Now, Xiaomi has confirmed a few details about the POCO X5 Pro 5G and set expectations about its performance capabilities.
As the images below show, Xiaomi will sell the POCO X5 Pro 5G with an AMOLED display that operates at 120 Hz and with a punch-hole front-facing camera. For reference, Xiaomi refers to the latter as a 'DotDisplay'. Additionally, Xiaomi has teased that the POCO X5 Pro 5G has a 108 MP primary camera, as well as a Snapdragon 778G chipset that scores 545,093 points in the AnTuTu benchmark.
Xiaomi compares the Snapdragon 778G to the Dimensity 1080, which appears to be a dig against the Realme 10 Pro Plus and the POCO X5 Pro 5G's superiority over it. In saying that, Xiaomi also sells the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus with the Dimensity 1080. Separately, @Sudhanshu1414 has obtained hands-on pictures of the POCO X5 Pro 5G and its non-Pro sibling. While the photos are the first hands-on shots of the pair, their designs were already known from leaked press renders. The POCO X5 series will debut globally on February 6.
