Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding coming to PC early summer 2020
Hideo Kojima’s upcoming game Death Stranding is coming to the PS4 on November 8th, but it won’t stay there for long. Kojima Productions announced earlier today that the title would be launching on PC in “early summer of 2020.”
In typical Kojima fashion, the development of the title has largely been shrouded in mystery. A 49 minute-long gameplay video released last month answered some questions about the game, but there’s still a lot we don’t know about Death Stranding. The plot revolves around teleportation and a mysterious deadly force and a baby and… lots of other convoluted and confusing elements. Again, this is a Kojima game, so the plot almost requires doctorates in literature and philosophy to fully understand.
Death Stranding looks technically impressive, especially when looking at the motion capture. The game stars Norman Reedus (of The Walking Dead fame), Mads Mikkelsen, Lindsay Wagner, and a few other high-profile names. The models used in the game look remarkably like their real-life counterparts, so it’s likely the PC release will require some beefy hardware to fully enjoy.
It’s likely Death Stranding will show up on our gaming benchmark list after its release next summer, so keep an eye out for our thoughts on the technology and our performance tests.
