Base Model or Advanced Model? Razer Blade 15 laptops look so much alike that they can be difficult to tell apart. Our table below summarizes all the physical differences between the latest models currently available.

(May 25, 2020 update: 2020 Advanced Model comes standard with the Core i7-10875H and the 2020 Base Model starts at $1600. The table has been corrected to reflect this.)

Razer has been using the same chassis design for all of its Blade 15 laptops during these past few years. While this creates a sense of uniformity and recognition, it can also make it difficult for shoppers because there are actually several key differences between most models. Users looking for specific features found only on certain configurations, for example, would have to do their research well and look very closely at the details.

If you're in the market for a new 2019 or 2020 Blade 15, then the table below should make it a little easier to choose between a Base Model or Advanced Model. Notable differences include thickness, battery capacity, storage, and display — features that wouldn't be immediately obvious by just looking at pictures.

The table also illustrates that the Advanced Model isn't necessarily better than the Base Model despite what the name may suggest. Advanced Model SKUs are faster and slightly thinner, but they sacrifice wider storage options and RJ-45 in the process which can be invaluable to a lot of gamers.

Beyond just hardware, there are additional differences between the Blade 15 SKUs including brightness, fan noise, and battery life depending on the display, CPU or GPU involved. We recommend checking out our existing reviews on the Blade 15 series for more information as usual.
