HP releases new 14-inch laptops with up to 64 GB RAM and 1,100 nit OLED display

HP has finally started replacing last year's OmniBook Ultra 14 laptops. For context, last year's models were available with AMD Strix Point APUs up to and including the Ryzen AI 9 HX 375 (curr. $949 - renewed on Amazon). By contrast, HP has pivoted to Intel and Qualcomm for its 2026 editions.
Previewed in January, the new OmniBook Ultra 14 series can be configured with up to the Core Ultra X9 388H or the Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E-90-100, as HP promised during CES 2026. Likewise, the new 14-inch laptop features up to 64 GB of RAM and a 2.8K OLED display. Mirroring recent Lenovo releases, this display combines a 120 Hz VRR refresh rate with 500 nits SDR and 1,000 nits HDR peak brightness.

However, pricing varies massively between Snapdragon and Panther Lake SKUs. Currently, Best Buy charges $2,049 for the OmniBook Ultra 14 with a Snapdragon X2 Elite X2E-90-100, 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. Meanwhile, Panther Lake variants start at $1,699 with the Core Ultra 7 356H, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage.
With that being said, configuring a comparable Panther Lake SKU quickly balloons pricing to $2,399 with the Core Ultra 9 386H, 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. Likewise, switching to the Core Ultra X9 388H for Arc B390 graphics commands an $80 surcharge over Core Ultra 9 386H. Worse still, HP charges $500 for the privilege of going from 32 GB to 64 GB of RAM and $180 for a 2 TB SSD instead of a 1 TB equivalent. HP's website indicates that the new OmniBook Ultra 14 should reach other markets soon, like the Eurozone.
