In its HP ZBook Fury 17 G7 mobile workstation, HP crammed more performance into a more compact case. The 119W5EA configuration delivers a lot of power in the test, and also convinces with a great 4K DreamColor display and numerous connections.

Undoubtedly, the ZBook Fury 17 G7 looks like the ultimate mobile workstation. It has a long battery life, an abundance of ports, great input devices, and a stupid amount of upgrade options. This includes up to 128GB of RAM, and 64GB if you go for ECC memory. See, here we’ve come to a bit of a roadblock. Thunderbolt 3 means that you get an older-generation device. And as we know, Intel has made a big step both in performance and efficiency with their Tiger Lake devices. Also, the graphics cards are based on the Turing architecture. This is not bad necessarily, but Ampere is definitely better. Especially when you compare the two Watt to Watt.

Average users are probably way in over their heads with this machine, but professionals need to take a look here for some fantastic value for the money. While not cheap, this investment will surely help you do your job better and expand your business. The G8 is an exceptional improvement over the G6 in almost every way, except the webcam, and it is an excellent machine with a lot to offer professional power users.

If Tim “the Toolman” Taylor owned a laptop, it would be the HP ZBook Fury 17 G8. Heck, this workstation has just the sort of specs to make him grunt in approval. In terms of raw power, this notebook is tough to beat, and even if it runs out of battery when you’re on the go, it’s still heavy enough to fight crime with. Granted, the $6K configuration we tested is overkill for most laptop users; it’s nigh impossible for this kind of mobile muscle to fail too hard on our standard benchmarks. And that’s partially the point, in my opinion. The world of mobile tech continues to march forward at an exponential rate, and if you don’t have the right laptop for your respective career, opportunity might very well pass you by. But that’s hardly a concern with the ZBook Fury 17 G8 thanks to a stunning 17.3-inch touchscreen, intimidating specs under the hood, and plenty of ports to power your pertinent peripherals.

HP: Founded in 1939, the US company is a major server and printer manufacturer and one of the leading IT companies in the world. Until 2015, the company was called Hewlett-Packard Company. After a split, the computer division was renamed HP Inc.
In 2023, HP had an approximate market share of 22% of global PC sales, making it number 2 after Lenovo.
With these GPUs you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution.
NVIDIA Quadro RTX 4000 Max-Q: Professional high-end laptop graphics card based on the TU104 chip with 2,560 shaders and 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM. Compared to the desktop variant, the GPU is clocked lower. Compared to the normal mobile variant, the Max-Q variants are clocked lower and work in a more efficient state. Currently we know of three variants with different clock speeds and power consumptions (80, 85 and 90 W).
NVIDIA Quadro T2000 Max-Q: Mid range dedicated graphics card for laptops based on the desktop GTX 1660 Ti and therefore the Turing architecture without raytracing and Tensor cores. The performance of the Max-P variant should be similar to an older GTX 1070.
NVIDIA Quadro T1000 (Laptop): Mid range dedicated graphics card for professional laptops based on the consumer GTX 1650 but with less shaders. Therefore it uses the Turing architecture without raytracing and Tensor cores.
These graphics cards are able to play the latest and most demanding games in high resolutions and full detail settings with enabled Anti-Aliasing.
NVIDIA RTX A5000 Laptop GPU: High-End professional laptop graphics card based on the Ampere GA104 chip. Based on the consumer GeForce GTX 3080 with certified drivers. Available in different performance variants ranging from 80 - 165 W TGP (max. power consumption).

Intel Comet Lake:
i9-10885H: On Coffee Lake architecture based processor for big and heavy laptops. Integrates eight processor cores clocked at 2.4 - 5.3 GHz that support HyperThreading. Manufactured in an improved 14nm process (14nm++). The Core i9-10855H supports the management features vPro, TXT and SIPP.
i7-10750H: A high-performance hexa-core processor designed for use in thicker laptops with room for better thermals. The Comet Lake-H processor is manufactured on the third-gen 14 nm Intel process and features a 24 EU UHD Graphics 630 iGPU clocked at 350 MHz to 1,150 MHz. The CPU cores run at 2.6 GHz (base clock speed) Boosting up to 5.0 GHz and the likely all-core Boost frequency is 4.3 GHz. Hyper-Threading is enabled, allowing two threads to run simultaneously on each core.
Intel Tiger Lake:
W-11955M: Tiger Lake (H45 series) based high end octa-core SoC for gaming laptops and workstations. The eight CPU cores clock with 2.6 - 5 GHz. The integrated UHD Graphics GPU offers 32 cores. The CPU is manufactured in the 10nm SuperFin (improved 10nm) process. Compared to the consumer CPUs, the Xeon line supports ECC memory.

2.76 kg:
With this weight, a laptop is rather heavier than average. Devices in this range shine more with screen size and performance than with mobility.
2.97 kg:
90.27%: There are not very many models that are rated better. Most of the assessments are in percentage ranges below that. The tested product is not considered perfect, but the sources give a clear purchase recommendation.
