Reviews for the HP Envy 13-aq1195nr

90% HP Envy 13 (2020) Review
Source: Trusted Reviews English Archive.org version
The HP Envy 13 (2020) is one of the best value laptops currently available, pinching fantastic features from rivals that cost a few hundred quid more. With a stellar performance and keyboard and ultra-portable design, the Envy is a great option for students and causal users.

80% HP Envy 13 Wood Series review: Walnut enhances a slender, capable laptop
Source: PC World English Archive.org version
HP is onto something with the home-inspired design elements of its latest laptops, and the Envy 13’s handsomely crafted wood palm rest continues in that vein. We also appreciated the powerful Ice Lake CPU, which strikes a reasonable balance between raw performance and heat management, not to mention the eye-popping 4K display, all for a reasonable price. That said, the gorgeous (albeit non-touch) screen does take a toll on battery life.

70% HP Envy 13 review (2020, Wood Edition)
Source: Laptop Mag English Archive.org version
HP's Envy 13 Wood Edition has a striking design with a real wood inlay, but poor battery life and a troublesome touchpad rot an otherwise-excellent laptop.

80% HP Envy 13 (Wood Edition)
Source: PC Mag English Archive.org version
The HP Envy 13 (Wood Edition)'s walnut-paneled design stands out from the ultraportable crowd. Couple that with a 4K screen, solid components, and a reasonable price tag, and it's an attractive package.

Intel Iris Plus Graphics G7 (Ice Lake 64 EU): Integrated graphics card in Intel Ice-Lake G7 SoCs based on the new Gen. 11 architecture with 64 EUs (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). The clock rate depends on the processor model ranging from 300 MHz base to 1050 - 1100 MHz boost. The Ice-Lake chips are produced in the modern 10nm process at Intel produced.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

i7-1065G7: Ice Lake-based quad-core processor for thin and light laptops. The four cores are clocked at 1.3 GHz to 3.9 GHz and should offer 18% more IPC (instructions per clock) than the previous generations (and therefore partly close the clock speed gap). Produced on first-gen 10 nm Intel process.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

13.30":

There are hardly any tablets in this display size range anymore. For subnotebooks, on the other hand, it is the standard format.

The advantage of subnotebooks is that the entire laptop can be small and therefore easily portable. The smaller display also has the advantage of requiring less power, which further improves battery life and thus mobility. The disadvantage is that reading texts is more strenuous on the eyes. High resolutions are more likely to be found in standard laptops.

HP: Founded in 1939, the US company is a major server and printer manufacturer and one of the leading IT companies in the world. Until 2015, the company was called Hewlett-Packard Company. After a split, the computer division was renamed HP Inc.

In 2023, HP had an approximate market share of 22% of global PC sales, making it number 2 after Lenovo.

80%: This rating is not earth-shattering. This rating must actually be seen as average, since there are about as many devices with worse ratings as better ones. A purchase recommendation can only be seen with a lot of goodwill, unless it is about websites that generally rate strictly.
