Reviews for the HP EliteBook 8 G1a 14, Ryzen AI 7 350

80% Working on the HP EliteBook 8 G1a is a good experience, but I think it can be hard to justify the cost of this Ryzen AI business laptop
Source: Techradar English
The HP EliteBook 8 G1a ticks plenty of corporate boxes, something HP is exceptionally skilled at doing. What it offers is a powerful yet battery-efficient solution with all the latest security enhancements and management tools that corporate IT will love. It also features sufficient ports that most users won’t need a docking station, and the underlying platform is capable of running local AI models and tools. It isn’t the cheapest laptop running this AMD Ryzen AI platform, but the quality of construction and features like Thunderbolt ports go some way to justify the extra it can cost over more affordable options. Not the best 14-inch laptop I’ve seen, but a solid platform that delivers power-user appeal without sacrificing its practicality.

AMD Radeon 860M: A fairly powerful RDNA 3.5 architecture iGPU that debuted in early 2025 and a direct successor to the Radeon 760M. Its 8 CUs/WGPs (512 unified shaders) run at up to 3 GHz. DX12 Ultimate, ray tracing, AI image generation and other modern features are all supported here, as are many popular video codecs including first and foremost AVC, HEVC, VP9 and AV1. Its gaming performance is good enough for playing 2024 games in low graphics settings.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
