Asus ExpertBook PM3406

Asus ExpertBook PM3406
The Asus ExpertBook PM3406 (ExpertBook P3 series) positions itself as a business-focused thin-and-light with AMD Ryzen AI processing and support for Microsoft Copilot+ features. Reviews praise its performance, value, and sturdy design, while consistently flagging the display and, versus some rivals, battery longevity as key compromises.

Pros

+ Strong Ryzen AI performance
+ Copilot+ capable NPU
+ All-metal robust build
+ Good overall value
+ Upgradable internal components

Cons

- Display could be brighter
- Limited color accuracy
- Battery behind Intel rivals
- Single-channel RAM default
- Only 512GB storage

The Asus ExpertBook PM3406 is a 14-inch business laptop in the ExpertBook P3 line built around AMD’s Ryzen AI 7 350 with an AMD Radeon 860M iGPU. It targets office users who want strong CPU performance and AI-ready hardware for Copilot+ features, paired with modern connectivity like Wi‑Fi 7, USB-C Power Delivery, HDMI, and DisplayPort support. The configuration listed includes 16GB DDR5-5600 (single-channel) and a 512GB SSD, with two RAM slots allowing upgrades up to 64GB. Review roundups rate it “good” overall, highlighting sturdy construction, solid productivity performance, and attractive pricing in its class. The recurring weakness is the IPS panel, which multiple reviews describe as underwhelming compared with brighter, more color-accurate competitors. Battery life is generally described as reasonable for work, though some reviewers note Intel or Qualcomm systems can last longer depending on workload.

84.7% Asus ExpertBook PM3 Review: Office laptop with AMD, long battery life, and Copilot+ | Notebookcheck
The Asus ExpertBook PM3 is an affordable office laptop with a fast AMD Ryzen processor and advanced AI functions. Many aspects were convincing in the test, but you shouldn't expect too much from the matte IPS display.

90% Asus ExpertBook P3 review: A better Copilot+ PC for work
Source: PC World English
The Asus ExpertBook P3 is a great laptop combining an all-metal build quality and “AI PC” hardware that delivers a combination of solid CPU performance and an NPU that can drive Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC features. On top of that, the price — $1,200 to $1,400 or so, depending on the sale pricing — is an excellent value for a machine that comes with 32GB of RAM and a 1TB solid-state drive. The main downside here is the display: Many people will want something brighter and perhaps higher-resolution. The other downside here is battery life: Chips from Intel and Qualcomm will deliver much longer battery life at the cost of top-end CPU performance, and that will be a better fit for workers with light workflows. But this is a robust laptop that can deliver impressive performance with reasonable battery life and at a fair price. It’s a great laptop.

80% The Asus ExpertBook P3 is a big-screen Copilot+ PC that gives you all-day working comfort
Source: It Pro English
The ExpertBook P3 has its weaknesses, but it's generally a great business all-rounder, highly usable with solid all-day comfort and enough performance for most working scenarios. In some ways, the Acer Vero 16 is stronger, with a brighter screen and better colour reproduction, not to mention a slightly faster CPU. Yet the Asus will be a better option for some buyers, either because they prefer the robust metallic shell to the Acer's more quirky recycled plastics, or because they're looking for a laptop with AI potential, where the 50 TOPS NPU in the Ryzen AI 7 processor has the advantage over the 13 TOPS NPU in the Vero 16's Core Ultra 7 255H. Either model is a great professional laptop, so it's more a question of budget, requirements, and style, but if you're in the market for a future-ready, big-screen business device, this is one of the best we've seen.

AMD Radeon 860M: A fairly powerful RDNA 3.5 architecture iGPU that debuted in early 2025 and a direct successor to the Radeon 760M. Its 8 CUs/WGPs (512 unified shaders) run at up to 3 GHz. DX12 Ultimate, ray tracing, AI image generation and other modern features are all supported here, as are many popular video codecs including first and foremost AVC, HEVC, VP9 and AV1. Its gaming performance is good enough for playing 2024 games in low graphics settings.

Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.
