HMD Global is introducing the Terra M, a feature phone that’s primarily designed for business customers. Therefore, it supports Mobile Device Management (MDM), which allows companies to easily manage the software on multiple devices. The handset offers some other interesting features for its class.
This starts with the especially rugged chassis, which is certified according to IP68 and IP69K standards, meaning it’s water-resistant. Moreover, the 2.8-inch touchscreen is designed to respond accurately even when the user is wearing gloves. The phone includes programmable buttons, both for using push-to-talk apps to use the HMD Terra M like a two-way radio and for triggering an emergency call. With a 4G modem, dual SIM slot and eSIM, the mobile carrier and plan can be changed quickly when traveling.
According to HMD Global, the 2,510mAh battery has a standby time of ten days. The brand further advertises an Qualcomm Dragonwing QCM2290 chipset and five years of security updates. In addition to a belt clip, HMD Global also offers an interesting charging dock for the Terra M. It charges the phone via metal contacts on the back and can be linked with up to ten docks so that ten HMD Terra M units can be charged with just a single power cable.
Price and availability
The HMD Terra M will be released in the first quarter of 2026, but the manufacturer has not yet confirmed any pricing details. More information about the rugged feature phone can be found on the official product page.
