The successor to the HMD Pulse Pro, which costs around $179 on Amazon, appears to be just around the corner, as the highly reliable leaker smashx_60 has already published initial images and key specifications of the HMD Pulse 2, Pulse 2+ and Pulse 2 Pro.
According to these claims, the HMD Pulse 2 Pro will feature a significantly wider camera module similar to Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro, along with a chassis in green, purple or black color choices. Like its direct predecessor, the mid-range smartphone is equipped with a 50MP selfie camera and a 50MP main camera. What’s new is the addition of an 8MP ultrawide camera. The 5,000mAh battery can be charged via USB-C at up to 20 watts.
HMD Global has apparently opted for a Unisoc Tiger T7250, which is a 12nm ARM chipset with two Cortex A75 performance cores and six Cortex A55 efficiency cores. This SoC is paired with 6GB to 8GB of RAM and 128GB to 256GB of storage. Meanwhile, the 6.72-inch IPS panel offers a 1080p+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz. A side mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC chip, and an IP52 rating are also on board.
The more affordable HMD Pulse 2+ offers a 6.7.inch IPS panel running at 120Hz with a 720p+ resolution, a 13MP selfie and a 50MP main camera, but there’s no ultrawide camera. The even cheaper HMD Pulse 2 uses the same processor and battery as the Pulse 2+ and the Pulse 2 Pro, but the 6.7-inch display only has 90 Hz and a 720p+ resolution, while the smartphone is said to feature a 50MP main camera, a 2MP sensor and an 8MP selfie camera. Lastly, it’s unclear when the HMD Pulse 2 series will launch and how much it will cost.
