The world is gradually moving on from 2G and even 3G networks for the most part. For instance, the UK is expected to shut off the remainder of its 3G network by the end of the year. HMD Global is not done with offering 2G feature phones for some markets, though.
Incidentally, the company still sells 4G-capable feature phones too, like the reincarnated Nokia 3210 (curr. $74 on Amazon). However, the forthcoming HMD 100, HMD 101 and HMD 102 should be much cheaper than the Nokia 3210 2024. For the time being, prices are unknown for all three handsets.
Nonetheless, HMD Global has already added the HMD 100 and HMD 101 to its Indian support website. Moreover, its CEO Jean-Francois Baril mentioned the HMD 102 in a recent LinkedIn post, which appears to be the only one of the three with a rear-facing camera.
Baril adds that the HMD 102 supports MP3 player functionality too, which implies the inclusion of a 3.5 mm jack as well at the very least. Seemingly, all three feature phones ship with Micro USB ports, though. As a result, HMD Global is unlikely to release the HMD 100, HMD 101 or the HMD 102 in markets like the European Union.
