HMD Global could launch the Nokia 9 PureView flagship in less than a month
When two or three cameras are not enough, going for more might be a good idea. Obviously, it might also be a bad idea, but the upcoming Nokia 9 PureView will definitely stand out from the crowd in terms of design. However, if the latest rumor turns into reality, this highly-anticipated flagship device will arrive sooner than expected.
Since the Nokia 9 PureView was not shown at CES 2019, it would have been natural to launch it at MWC 2019 in Barcelona next month. That might be the truth, but a recent exclusive report by 91mobiles claims that this flagship will be unveiled later this month and will go on sale on February 6.
The list of specs and features mentioned by 91mobiles is in line with other recent leaks and rumors, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, 8 GB of memory, 128 GB of internal storage space, a 5.99-inch QHD AMOLED display, a 16 + 16 + 8 + 5 MP main camera setup (there is apparently a mistake here, because the main camera should have five sensors, not four), a 12 MP selfie shooter, all driven by a 4,150 mAh battery with Quick Charging 3.0 via USB Type-C. The operating system onboard will be Android 9.0 Pie, of course.
The expected price of less than US$820 does not look too high since the Nokia 9 PureView is also expected to feature a water- and dust-proof body, as well as an under-display fingerprint reader. We just need to wait for a few more weeks until the official release, so we'd better take all the above with a grain of salt until then.
