The HMD Fuse was specifically designed for children and offers two special features. Firstly, there is HarmBlock AI, an artificial intelligence visual classifier that prevents nudity from being displayed on the screen, regardless of whether an image or video in a web browser, social network or camera app contains nudity.
Secondly, the HMD Fuse blocks almost all features beyond the basics such as making phone calls and using the camera app by default. The app store, web browser and social networks must be explicitly enabled by parents before a child can use them. Even contacts are blocked by default until they are approved by a parent. Parents can view the smartphone's location and location history at any time.
Parents can also restrict the range of functions at certain times of the day to reduce distractions during school or at night. The HMD Fuse's hardware is based on the HMD Fusion, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card. It also features a 108 MP main camera, a 50 MP selfie camera, and a 6.56-inch, 90 Hz 720p+ IPS panel. The 5,000 mAh battery can be charged via USB-C with up to 33 watts.
