Google has released new features to the Pixel Watch app as part of its November 2022 update. Not only has Google included several bug fixes, but the company has also integrated greater Fitbit functionality, which still remains lacking compared to Fitbit's flagship smartwatches.

Google has been selling the Pixel Watch for over a month now, with the company initially shipping complimentary smartwatches with Pixel 7 Pro pre-orders. At launch, the Pixel Watch offered relatively pared-back Fitbit functionality, despite the Fitbit app effectively replacing Google Fit. Seemingly, Google intends to improve Fitbit integration within Wear OS over time, with the company making three changes within this month's Pixel Watch app.

According to the changelog, it is now possible to set up Fitbit with one tap when from within the smartwatch app on your smartphone, after which integration settings will be shown on the app's home screen. Additionally, Google claims that Fitbit synchronisation information will be accessible from the home screen too. While all minor changes on their own, they should add up to an improved user experience overall, with there now being no need to open the Fitbit app to manage synchronise data or establish a connection between Fitbit and the Pixel Watch.

The new update is already rolling out and should be available to download from today on most smartphones. For reference, Google states that the November 2022 update also addresses issues when setting up an eSIM and that it adds a 3D tutorial within the app's 'Tips & support section'. You can download the Pixel Watch app via the Google Play Store; the app is not available via any other app stores like the Galaxy Store.
