Garmin Q4 update rollout underway with new features like Morning Report and Running Power
Garmin has released its Q4 update for a wide range of its products. For example, Fenix 7 and Epix smartwatches can benefit from the new features; a complete list of devices which will receive the update can be found below. Many tools included in the update have already been rolled out to some eligible watches in Beta and Alpha forms. However, this announcement marks the start of a wider rollout of the new software.
The wearables will receive a new Running Power tool, which can measure your power output on your wrist, removing the need to wear a dedicated wearable to gather these real-time insights. Runners can also find a new Grade Adjusted Pace feature, allowing you to moderate your effort when tackling a hill. The Morning Report feature provides a snapshot of your day, with information such as the weather forecast and last night's sleep quality. Backcountry Snowboarding and Disc Golf activities have also been added to the watches.
Plus, the update is available for the Edge 1040 and Edge Explore 2 series cycling computers. New features for these gadgets include Targeted Adaptive Coaching with suggested workouts and training tips. Live Event Sharing can automatically share your progress updates with friends and family, and Spectator Messaging allows you to see messages from loved ones while riding. Garmin has said that the update rollout is already underway and should be completed in a matter of weeks. To get the new software, customers must have automatic updates enabled.
