Huawei has released HarmonyOS 2.1.0.368 for the Watch D, its first smartwatch that can measure blood pressure levels. Rolling out now, the new update adds a few quality-of-life improvements for the Huawei Watch D, including the option of replying to notifications from third-party messaging apps.

Huawei has brought new features to the Watch D, one of several high-end smartwatches that the company sells. Released globally last month, the Watch D features an on-watch blood pressure cuff, ECG functionality and Huawei’s suite of health tracking software for €399 in the Eurozone and £349.99 in the UK.

Following the device’s launch, Huawei has sought to improve the Watch D’s software experience with HarmonyOS 2.1.0.368, an update that is available globally. As the changelog below shows, the Watch D can now send short replies to WhatsApp messages directly rather than resorting to picking up a paired smartphone. Please note that this feature is only available with the Watch D paired to an Android or HarmonyOS-powered device, not iOS.

Additionally, you can reply using a predetermined set of emojis. As usual, HarmonyOS 2.1.0.368 contains undisclosed system stability optimisations. This month’s update is only a 46 MB download, although this could still take a while to complete via the Huawei Health app. Please see our launch article for more details about the Watch D and its capabilities.
