A Google Stadia spokesperson stated that the platform will be getting over 120 games in 2020, of which 10 will be exclusives. The company also promised some QoL upgrades such as 4K gaming on the web, better Google Assistant functionality, and more. These features will make their way to Stadia subscribers in the coming months.

Google Stadia was arguably one of the biggest fails of 2019. It was plagued with missing features, sub-par performance and several other shortcomings. There are still a ton of kinks that need to get ironed out before it can be considered as a legitimate gaming platform.

One of the many problems with Stadia was the total lack of games. Google aims to remedy that by bringing 120 games to the platform this year. A Stadia Community spokesperson also added that the game streaming service will get at least 10 exclusive titles in the next six months. The post didn't mention any specifics, just that they'll let us know more about the games 'soon'. We're probably looking at some timed exclusives that will be available on other platforms after the exclusivity period ends.

Some of the other upcoming features include support for 4K gaming on a browser, better integration with the Google Assistant while playing on said browser, and most importantly, the ability to use your Stadia controller wirelessly when playing on a PC/Mac. Lastly, Stadia won't remain a Pixel exclusive anymore on mobile. There is no mention of iOS support anywhere, so don't expect to play Stadia titles on your Apple devices anytime soon.

Google Stadia offers a solution to a non-existent problem. Cloud-based gaming was never the need of the hour, considering that PC hardware and consoles are relatively affordable now. Regardless, it is still in the very early stages of its lifecycle, and things aren't looking too bright for the fledgling game streaming service. We sincerely hope that Stadia doesn't end up on Google's reject bin alongside the likes of Allo and Google+.
