Gold iPad Mini with Touch ID spotted in the wild

Teaser
Leaked photos show a gold iPad Mini featuring a fingerprint sensor just like the iPhone 5s.

Now that Apple's Touch ID has taken the world by storm, finding its way into over 6 million pockets, focus can shift towards the next generation of iPads. This time around, it appears as if the new iPad Mini will end up being very similar to the new iPhone, featuring the same sensor and color.

A couple of images leaked on Chinese site Donews show the iPad Mini 2 sporting a new gold hue, just like the iPhone 5s. The images also show a silver ring around the home button, presumably adding Touch ID capabilities to the device. While the iPad 5 has also been rumored to feature the same color, the website also suggests that the new MacBooks could receive a similar paint job, leading to an interesting segment of Apple products.

In related news, prolific leaker Sonny Dickson has been busy tweeting supposed specs of the upcoming iPad Mini, claiming the device will retain its 1024x768 pixel display. Dickson also mentioned that a 64-bit, A7 processor with an M7 motion coprocessor will reside on the inside, to go along with 1GB of RAM. Unfortunately, there still is no definitive time frame available for the iPad release, though it is expected within the coming few months.
