iPad with smaller frame caught on video

Teaser
Video shows a new iPad with a narrower width than the previous generation and a closer resemblance to the iPad Mini.

Apple's already got a launch event scheduled for next week, and while the next generation of iPads aren't expected to be in attendance, that doesn't mean the rumors and leaks can stop. This time around, Unbox Therapy seem to have gotten their hands on parts of the new iPad, and they go into great detail on their YouTube channel.

The video only shows the alleged front and back panels for the new iPad/iPad 5, but it is enough to come to some interesting conclusions. For starters, it appears that the iPad 5 will be significantly narrower than its predecessor, with a width of 17cm instead of 18.5cm. This doesn't come at the expense screen real estate though, and the only change appears to be a much narrower bezel that preserves screen size.

In addition, the iPad design looks like it's transitioning to a more boxy style, as the edges are much straighter than the sloped versions we've gotten used to. Other changes also include separate volume up/down buttons, a slightly thinner width and a speaker grill on the bottom like the iPad Mini, but we'll have to wait and see if this is how the finished product will look.
