Video compares iPad 4 to alleged iPad 5 back panel

A few days ago we were privy to leaked images of a gold iPad Mini with Touch ID and now it's the iPad 5's turn to show off for the cameras. This time around, Chinese accessory manufacturer SW-box managed to get their hands on the back panel of the device and shot a video comparing it to the iPad 4 and iPad Mini.

Matching Apple's overall transition towards a more boxed design, the new iPad definitely resembles a larger iPad Mini with a paint job that looks suspiciously like the iPhone's "space grey".  Dimensions are also more compact, coming in at 239.20mm x 169.5mm x 7.2mm compared to the iPad 4's 241.2mm x 185.7mm x 9.4mm. Other differences also include an extra microphone on the top of the panel, a centered speaker grill on the bottom and separate volume up/down buttons.

The dimensions and changes in the new iPad read exactly the same as Unbox Therapy's video earlier this month, lending credence to each video's claims. Consequently, we can probably expect the iPad 5 to retain its Retina resolution thanks to a thinner bezel, but confirmation will have to wait till we see images of the front and when Apple eventually makes things official.
