Xiaomi has released V12.0.1.0.QCOMIXM to all global versions of the Redmi Note 8, a few days after it announced a Stable Beta release of the update. The inaugural MIUI 12 update for the global version of the Redmi Note 8 is the first of its kind for the device, with Xiaomi still yet to update the Chinese, Indian or Indonesian variants to its latest OS.
V12.0.1.0.QCOMIXM is being pushed in batches as an over-the-air (OTA) upgrade, according to Xiaomi. However, the company has also published the recovery and fastboot files should you wish to upgrade your device manually to MIUI 12. Adimorah Blog warns that some devices have been unable to flash these files though, so it may best to wait for the OTA to arrive. Not only does V12.0.1.0.QCOMIXM bring MIUI 12 and Android 10 to the Redmi Note 8, but it brings the September set of security patches, which are now over a month old.
Similarly, Xiaomi has seeded V12.0.1.0.QFGRUXM for the Russian version of the Redmi Note 7. The build follows in the footsteps of V12.0.1.0.QFGMIXM, which Xiaomi began rolling out to global devices last week. V12.0.1.0.QFGRUXM is a Stable Beta build like V12.0.1.0.QFGMIXM, meaning that will only be reaching a select number of devices for the time being. Typically, Stable Beta updates reach the full Stable stage within a few days or weeks. You can grab the files for V12.0.1.0.QFGRUXM from Xiaomi Firmware Updater though, should you wish to download the OTA or recovery ROM manually.
