Take to the streets in joy, Redmi Note 8 owners; MIUI 12 and Android 10 is finally here for you! After months of delays, Xiaomi is finally sending out the stable MIUI 12 and Android 10 update to the global version of the Redmi Note 8, with the update weighing a hefty 2.1 GB.

The Redmi Note 8 was left abandoned for months, with its siblings, the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 9 both receiving the latest versions of MIUI ages ago. Thankfully, those days are finally over, as the Redmi Note 8 is now getting the MIUI 12 and Android 10 updates globally.

The update for the Redmi Note 8 started rolling out this morning, with the build designation "MIUI 12.0.1.0 QCOMIXM". This, of course, shows that it's the very first MIUI 12 build the global Redmi Note 8 is getting. Of course, the Redmi Note 8 started receiving MIUI 12 in China weeks ago, with the Redmi Note 8T getting its taste a short while ago too.

This update brings MIUI 12 and Android 10 to the Redmi Note 8 and should, hopefully, put an end to the avalanche of—justifiable—complaints from owners of the Redmi Note 8. We expect other Redmi Note 8 variants to receive the update shortly.

This, of course, means that Xiaomi has now sent out the MIUI 12 update to the Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 9S, and Redmi Note 9 Pro in the third phase of the MIUI 12 rollout, just as we reported last month.
