Reviews for the Gigabyte Aero 17 HDR YC
Judging solely by the exterior of the Aero 17 HDR, you would think that not much has changed. But the device features a new GPU under its hood. We tested the best configuration available, equipped with a GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop.

The Gigabyte Aero 17 HDR YD ticks off all the essential boxes of what a creative professional needs in a mobile production laptop. It’s not too heavy, and the 17.3-inch, 4K display is vivid and color accurate, allowing for excellent color grading results. The powerful Intel Core i9 CPU bundled with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 GPU can handle your video and image editing needs without batting an eyelash. However, the Aero 17 HDR is expensive, with so-so audio and can get hot when gaming. And while it’s no worse than the competition, the battery life will have you searching for a power outlet. If more power is what you desire, you’ll want to take a look at the Origin Eon 17-X. However, keep in mind at $2,945, it’s seriously expensive and has an even shorter battery life. That said, the Gigabyte Aero 17 HDR YD is still one of the better c options for content creators.

The Aero 17 is one of the most expensive creative laptops you can buy, but it’s powerful enough to tackle virtually any work task and Gigabyte bolsters the components with good thermal performance, a fantastic screen and great connectivity. That’s great, but the weight, design and battery life are middling, and the keyboard could be larger and quieter.

Top-notch performance for professionals and gamers, but it this hardware isn’t a cheap option and the mobile RTX 3070 doesn't have all the power of the discrete desktop card.

The Gigabyte Aero 17 (2021) is definitely one of the most powerful mobile workstations for creative professional you're going to find. Its build quality is exceptional, the design and display are gorgeous, and you definitely won't lack for ports. Best of all, it's priced well below its less-powerful rivals regardless of configuration, so its price-to-performance ratio should put it at the top of the list for any creative professional looking to upgrade their work laptop. That said, all this comes at the cost of portability and battery life and while it can play AAA games very well, there are better gaming laptops out there.
