Reviews for the Gigabyte AERO 16 OLED BSF
Using a slightly modified design, new connections and new hardware grounded in an Intel Gen 13 and a Nvidia RTX 4070, the Aero 16 OLED seeks to win over gamers and creators alike. We put the laptop through its paces to find out what the case change and hardware upgrades bring to the table.

We started this review by saying that creator laptops tend to prioritize a different set of features than your typical gaming laptop. In an ideal world, they offer similar performance to a gaming laptop, but in a lighter chassis, with a more color-accurate display, sleek design, and decent battery life. The Gigabyte 16 AERO comes so very close to greatness, falling short on only that last point. The Intel Core i9-13900H and 115W GeForce RTX 4070 make this a solid performer that comes to close to matching some of last year's gaming laptops, the design is sleek and professional, the build-quality is premium, and the display features a wide gamut with professional-grade color accuracy and pixel perfect OLED contrast. But in order to get all of these things inside of a relatively thin and light package that's also user-upgradable, Gigabyte sacrificed some battery life.

Topping most of our benchmark-test charts against some higher-end and pricier competitors, especially in CPU-centric trials, the Gigabyte Aero 16 OLED's power, value, and build quality surprised us. The vibrant screen and varied I/O will be appreciated by anyone, but they're particularly useful for creative professionals working with color-dependent media. We're sure the Gigabyte Aero 16 OLED will impress you as much as it impressed us, but, if battery power is something that is a concern (and in an around-4-pound laptop, it should be), the latest Dell XPS 15 will cover that gap for you and do much more.

The Aero improves on last year's model when it comes to connectivity, and it retains its excellent exterior and great keyboard. Most importantly, you get incredible performance from the updated internals and a sensational OLED screen that can tackle virtually any creative task. That's impressive when rivals are pricier. Pay more for those machines and there are advantages. The MacBook Pro 16 is just as fast as the Aero and has better battery life. The Dell XPS 15 is slimmer and lighter and also lasts longer. For portable power, incredible screen quality and value, though, the Gigabyte Aero 16 is virtually unbeaten. It's an excellent mobile powerhouse.

The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, often allows high resolutions and thus offers rich details on the screen, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact - simply the standard compromise.
