Samurai action-adventure fans should mark their calendars as a Ghost of Yotei gameplay deep dive is scheduled for July 10. The game is the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima but is set 300 years ahead of the events of Jin’s story.

Those waiting for more Ghost of Yotei footage will get their fill soon as Sony has announced a dedicated State of Play event. Like the Borderlands 4 State of Play in April, this even will be a deep dive into the world of Sucker Punch’s upcoming sequel to the highly popular Ghost of Tsushima. The game was first announced back in September last year and since then, details have been sparse.

The PlayStation Blog has been updated with the date and timings for the next State of Play stream. It will broadcast on July 10 starting 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm BST / 11pm CEST. It is going to be a gameplay deep dive that you can watch on the PlayStation Twitch and YouTube channels. Some fans might be left wanting more since the stream will only have about 20 minutes of gameplay.

As for what it will entail, Sucker Punch’s Creative Directors, Jason Connell and Nate Fox will host and talk about Atsu’s quest, “show off her new weapons, new ways to personalize your journey at the edge of Japan, new special modes, and much more.”

Ghost of Yotei is the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, even though it follows a different protagonist and storyline. It is set 300 years after the story of Ghost of Tsushima and follows Atsu, a mercenary who is looking for revenge as she travels through northern Japan, hunting those who killed her family many years earlier.

The game is scheduled for release on October 2 and is available for pre-order on the PlayStation Store. It will most likely come to PC as well but that could be anywhere between two to four years after its PS release. Sony revealed last month that it is very thoughtful about bringing its exclusives to PC and it is a matter of ‘if’ not ‘when.’ Ghost of Tsushima was released for the PlayStation 4 in July of 2020 and the PC version came out in May of 2024.
