Garmin is rolling out a new software version for the Forerunner models, promising various bug fixes, performance improvements and enhancements of certain features. This applies to golfers and music lovers in particular.

Garmin is currently rolling out a new beta software update, version 26.05, for the Forerunner 165, Forerunner 265, Forerunner 955 and Forerunner 965. This is a beta update, so users are required to participate in the beta program and bugs may occur. Nevertheless, the update itself is intended to fix various issues.

This update introduces a number of critical fixes intended to improve stability and overall user experience of the watches. One notable bug fix is that the "Find My Device" alert will now go off even if the watch is secured with the Passcode feature, rectifying a potential security oversight. Another issue where users could not properly the pan/zoom mode on the map if activity is paused has now been resolved. Furthermore, a bug that occasionally prevented the Red Shift display mode from automatically deactivating when the user’s set sleep window concluded has been fixed.

The changelog also lists improvements for the golf sensors, namely the correction of missing club averages and suggestions when the watches are paired with CT10 sensors. Users can also now hold the lap key in order to change sports during multisport activities, freeing up a lap press to record laps, rests, or sets within the current sport. Lastly, the update also fixes an issue where an incorrect playback time was displayed while fast-forwarding through music tracks.
