Garmin has issued a new update for many of its current high-end smartwatches after a spate of recent software releases. This time, the company has returned to the Enduro 3, Fenix E, Fenix 8 and Tactix 8 (curr. $1,299 on Amazon), albeit still only on its Beta Program for the time being.
For context, Garmin started 20.xx development last week with the release of Beta Version 20.07. While that beta introduced new features, its successor focuses on addressing outstanding bugs. Specifically, Beta Version 20.10 contains five headline big fixes, including one to address weather icons not showing correctly on MiP display-equipped smartwatches.
Moreover, Beta Version 20.10 should resolve other issues, like a maximum active timer message showing when starting a timer. On top of that, Garmin's latest update refines the Navigation Preview Page to now show total distance remaining during a course activity. Please note that Beta Version 20.10 is likely the second of many beta updates before Garmin finalises v20.xx development. The full changelog for Garmin's latest beta update is as follows:
- Fixed Muting Swim Pacing Alert Not Working.
- Fixed Weather Icons on MIP Watch Faces Not Showing Night Icons at Night.
- Fixed Indoor Climb Activity Not Locking Buttons When in an Active Split.
- Fixed Reordering and Removing the First Data Screen of a Hunt Activity.
- Updated the Navigation Preview Page To Show the Total Distance Remaining on the Course.
- Fixed Maximum Active Timers Message Showing When Starting Timer
