Garmin fixes heart rate-related bug in new update for wearable

The Garmin Descent G2 software version 27.19 has landed. This release for the watch-style dive computer arrives several weeks after the brand rolled out version 27.16, which added dive information to the Training Readiness Widget.

With the latest update for the Descent G2, Garmin issues three bug fixes. The first tackles a problem with the Messenger widget, which could be unstable at times. The company has also resolved some instability linked to the broadcasting heart rate feature, which allows you to view this data on paired Garmin devices.

Finally, Garmin has fixed an issue where some running statistics were not recorded as expected. In the change log for version 27.19, the company states that one of the affected metrics was running cadence. There do not appear to be any new features included in this release.

In a post on the Garmin forum, a representative for the brand confirmed that software version 27.19 is now available for 20% of users of the Descent G2 dive computer (curr. $699.99 at Amazon). While it is said to be rolling out incrementally, the exact completion date of the release has yet to be announced.
