Earlier today, the first evidence for the so-called Forerunner 570 appeared online after a wave of recent Garmin smartwatch leaks. In summary, specifications for the previously unknown Forerunner have emerged, as has a picture of an apparent retail unit and launch pricing for two sizes.
Now, the Forerunner 970 has reared its head again after being seen on a Garmin Taiwan support page towards the end of last month. While the support page merely confirmed the Forerunner 970's existence, an Italian retailer has gone much further. Specifically, Capo Nord has listed the Forerunner 970 on its website ahead of time, evidence of which we have embedded below.
According to the retailer, it has received word that Garmin will release the Forerunner 970 this summer for €749, which converts to roughly $689 at current exchange rates excluding Italy's 22% VAT. In other words, the Forerunner 970 could be significantly more expensive than the Forerunner 965, which arrived over two years ago for €579 in the Eurozone (curr. $499 on Amazon). Incidentally, FitnessTrackerTest indicates that Garmin will introduce the Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970 simultaneously. Meanwhile, Capo Nord adds that the latter utilises sapphire crystal glass to protect its improved AMOLED display, as well as a speaker for voice commands and possibly an Elevate V5 sensor too.
