GameSir's Windows game emulator for Android, GameHub, has been updated to version 5.0. One of the major highlights of this update is that it's said to be fully optimized for Hollow Knight: Silksong, allowing mobile users to play the top-rated, newly released action-adventure game on their smartphones.
Of course, this is not the only change that has been introduced with the latest update. Version 5.0 of GameHub also introduces full support for Steam, allowing users to access Steam's cloud saves and online play from the Windows game emulator for Android.
With support for cloud saves, users can keep their progress synced on Steam, which is a big plus for those who play the same games on multiple devices. Some early testers are also reporting that achievements and playtime are also synced after the update.
It's worth noting that the Steam sync feature may not work out of the box in some instances. However, Redditors suggest that switching Steam's client out of the "lightweight" mode will ensure a better overall experience.
The latest update promises a better controller experience as well (GameSir G8 Plus curr. $79.99 on Amazon). It adds support for "immersive" vibration and adaptive trigger. GameSir further highlights that GameHub 5.0 uses a new "native rendering mode." It is said to deliver stable frame rates, smoother gameplay, and lower latency.
While GameSir didn't offer any before-and-after benchmarks, many users report that the update delivers a noticeable performance boost. For example, one of the users on r/EmulationOnAndroid reports a nearly 2x FPS jump on GTA V. Of course, the emulation performance will largely depend on the phone's hardware, but GameHub is known to run stably on most phones, including those with a Mali GPU.
