Samsung has already sent the long-awaited One UI 7 update to virtually all of its eligible flagship phones, both new and old. Now it's the turn of the brand's mid-rangers, where the Galaxy A55 is one of the most recent and popular in its catalog. The Galaxy A55 is getting ready to receive One UI 7 globally as Samsung is sending it to the Galaxy Quantum 5, a South Korea-exclusive version.
Galaxy Quantum 5, an ultra-secure Galaxy A55, just got One UI 7 in Korea
If you're not aware, the Galaxy Quantum 5 shares the design and most of the specs with the Galaxy A55. The big difference is the presence of an extra security Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG) chip from ID Quantum (IDQ). Have you heard of the Titan security chip in the Google Pixel devices? You can think of it like that. This IDQ chip works alongside Samsung's Knox suite to keep your banking and payment app logins secure using random number generation technology.
The Galaxy Quantum 5 is currently receiving the Android 15-based One UI 7 in South Korea. This particular variant is getting the OTA with build number A556SKSU4BYD9. Therefore, everything points to the standard Galaxy A55 starting to receive the firmware very soon. We may have more news this next week.
One UI 7 for the Galaxy A55 is expected to bring the big revamp we've already seen on flagship Galaxy phones. However, some features may be missing, as seen in the software running some recent Samsung mid-range devices.
