GTA 6 reviews will go live on November 18, a day before the game’s release. Media outlets and influencers have received codes, and Rockstar is being extra cautious about the possibility of leaks.

Earlier this week, it was reported that GTA 6 review copies will have watermarks to identify those responsible in case of any leaks. Turns out that’s not true, but Rockstar still seems to have a solid plan in place to avoid leaks, or if that fails, to identify the leaker.

All the leaks for GTA 6 that Rockstar has failed to curtail have naturally made the studio extremely cautious. It was believed that they’re taking no chances with leaks coming from review copies, so they have watermarked the review copies with the reviewer’s name. Now, Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson and credible leaker NateTheHate have stated that’s not true.

The latter shared on X that the watermark claim is not true, at least to their knowledge. Henderson also posted on X and stated that after a bit of digging, he found no evidence of this being true, but did state that Rockstar has “some insane security measures in place.” What these measures are exactly, remains unclear.

It’s not surprising for Rockstar to have gone the extra mile to make sure there are no more leaks as the review embargo lifts a day before the game’s release. Recent reports confirmed that media outlets and influencers have received review codes for GTA 6 and that the embargo is November 18. GTA 6 launches on November 19, with pre-load starting November 12. The game is expected to take 210 GB of storage space on the PS5.
