GTA 6 collector’s box too expensive? Fan offers 3D-printable Macca figure

On September 24, Rockstar unveiled the “Goodtime State – Vice City Collection” for Grand Theft Auto VI (available for pre-order on Amazon). The box includes an Oakley pair of sunglasses, a New Era cap, a map of Leonida, an approximately 6-inch Macca the Gator figure and a few smaller goodies. As we previously reported, fans aren't opposed to the contents of the collector's box, but they are far less enthusiastic about the $400 price tag.

Those mainly interested in the alligator figure can now simply make one themselves with a 3D printer. Just one day after Rockstar's announcement, X user Santiago published his own 3D-printed recreation of the Macca the Gator figure – and while it has yet to be painted, it already looks remarkably close to the original. The speed and level of detail of the recreation are particularly noteworthy because Rockstar's product images are currently the only reference material available.

The 3D print has received plenty of attention in the comments under the X post. Users are particularly interested in how Santiago managed to recreate the figure in such detail without having a physical model to work from. According to Santiago, the base model was created using the AI software Tripo AI and then refined in ZBrush. He modeled the base and logo himself and separated the tail from the rest of the model for 3D printing. Another frequently asked question is whether the 3D-printable files are available for download. The answer is yes, but not for free. Santiago is offering the STL file for the Macca the Gator figure on cults3d.com for €1.50 (around $1.71).
